WHAT IS IT
is it the happiness within our resting souls?
do others weep as we reach out for it?
is it a sign that the end is near?
or life that’s about launch?
what does it mean or stand for?
is it a sign of a victory?
or defeat?
is it tears of joy?
or tears of sadness?
is it the same for everyone?
is it the feel of the warm sheets during the cold months?
or surround sound of absolutely nothing?
is it an eternal subject?
or is it felt by all?
is it even anything at all?
or just a figure of our imagination?

Very nice beginning. This line throws it off:"or life that’s about launch?" Consider revising this line.
These 2 lines also aren't working for you, "is it the feel of the warm sheets during the cold months?
or surround sound of absolutely nothing?"
I like what you're saying with the last line, but it would be more powerful if you re-worded it. GO through the whole poem and read it aloud, changing words and phrases until it flows naturally.
